Zircon
(ZR-UP)
- Anti-spalling Resistance
- High Corrosion Resistance
Made mainly from carefully selected zircon (ZrO₂–SiO₂), these bonded refractories are manufactured under optimal conditions to provide high corrosion resistance. Zircon is a stable mineral even at high temperatures of around 1550℃, delivering excellent performance in the demanding environment of glass melting furnaces.
Features
01. Anti-spalling Resistance
Its high anti-spalling resistance makes it suitable for the superstructures of glass melting furnaces where temperature fluctuations are significant.
02. Corrosion Resistance
It exhibits excellent corrosion resistance to molten glass and is less likely to chemically react at high temperatures with other types of bricks. Therefore, it is widely used as paving or as separator materials between fused cast refractories and silica bricks in glass melting furnaces.
