CERAROI-C (silicon carbide)

Pressure-less sintered dense silicon carbide

CERAROI C-400 is sintered dense silicon carbide and its characteristic is high strength, stiffness and hardness with excellent resistance to oxidation and chemical. CERAROI C-400 can be used in a high temperature range exceeding the limit of conventional heat-resistant metals up to 1,400℃. In addition, compared with alumina ceramics, the most widely used fine ceramics material, CERAROI C-400 has superior characteristics in terms of high strength rigidity, hardness and also low heat expansion and lightweight. CERAROI C-400 has been used in a wide range of applications as material for use in electronics-related material and as abrasion-resistant material.

Re-crystallized silicon carbide

CERAROI SC-R is a porous material made up only of silicon carbide. It also shows superior properties at high temperature, and contributes to the weight reduction of products.

CERAROI-N (silicon nitride)

CERAROI-N has characteristics of high strength maintained up to 1,000℃, and shows excellent low-thermal expansion properties, resistance to chemicals and electric isolation. CERAROI-N is used at various industries such as thermocouple protection tube/stalk pipe for aluminum products and nuclear energy-related parts. There are two grades in CERAROI-N, the standard N-600 type and ultra-strong N-800 type.

UD-Ⅱ (MoB-Ni) 

UD-Ⅱ is a product created by compositing molybdenum boron compound (MoB) and metallic nickel. UD-Ⅱ is a functional composite material adding the property of toughness on the basic important property of high hardness and strength.
As UD-Ⅱ is resistant to high temperature and we have successfully compound (that provides lubricity) and metal, it shows superior properties to other materials at the range from room temperature to high temperature of over 800℃. Also, it is useful, even in cold temperature, as a material to fill in the middle spaces between metallic-materials, strong alloys and ceramics. There are two types of UD-Ⅱone is type 50T with high toughness and another is type 35T with excellent high temperature resistance and corrosion resistance.

CERABOREX (zirconium boride)

Developed using AGC Ceramics's original electro-fused synthesis technology, Ceraborex has a high melting point of 3,060℃. It has electrical conductivity ( specific resistance 10-5Ω・cm order ) equal to that of pure iron. Also, it has high corrosion resistance with slag and molten metals such as aluminum and iron.

LOTEC-M (cordierite)

LOTEC-M is cordierite created by AGC Ceramics's original electro-fused synthesis technology. Utilizing low expansion property and strong heat resistance, LOTEC-M is used as industrial ceramics such as tools, heat exchanging apparatus of furnace and electric isolation. In addition, making useful of the property of low-thermal expansion and light weight, LOTEC-M is used as electronics related parts.

LOTEC-T ( aluminum titanate )

LOTEC-T is a ceramic created from aluminum titanate crystals that AGC Ceramics have developed. It is known that conventional aluminum titanate even when sintered, could not achieve a reasonable strength and tends to be decomposed at high temperatures. We have improved these weak-points of aluminum titanate and added three new characteristics: thermal shock resistance, no reaction with molten metals, and hard to getting wet. Making use of these characteristics, it is used in various industry as excellent material such as those to create nonferrous metal melting furnace. There are two types in the T-series: type TC with coarse-grained particles having high thermal-shock resistance, and type TM (machinable ceramics) capable of being mechanically processed into varied shapes.
